Adoration

Recently, a very kind and saintly woman in my church asked me to devote one hour of my day -Tuesdays for Adoration. It is an honor to kneel, sit and behold the beautiful and sacred presence of our Lord. But, can I commit? I mean after all it is the Advent Season, the time leading up to Christmas. There is so much to be done. Or….. and you see where I’m going with this, is there?

Adoration and Advent are the perfect Pair to prepare us for Christmas. Just spending a little time praying, reading scripture, and meditating on the Love and Grace of God during the Adoration time will place anyone in the Christmas Spirit. During Advent, we are focusing on Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. What better way to focus on all four spiritual gifts than reflecting on these virtues in His Presence.

After all, our days are not really ours. My day is not mine. It belongs to God. Spending this one sacred hour each Tuesday will be a Blessing. I know it will put all the hustle and bustle of the season in perspective. God will be the focus, not the gifts and parties. Yes, I will commit.

I hope everyone takes time this Advent Season to attend Adoration. You won’t regret it.
